Delivery Logistics Specialist

Looking for a Logistics-minded individual with skillset to both support and improve delivery and driver-scheduling processes with focus on optimizing delivery lead time and resource management. Role entails responsibility for timely and efficient management of all things transportation and delivery related.

Optimization and process improvement need to be a core mindset. Will work with key leadership and five, flatbed drivers/crane operators running multiple daily routes within a 200-mile radius of Allentown, PA. Should be familiar with load building, weight restrictions, oversize load exceptions, scheduling, and ongoing equipment and driver certifications for DOT. Will be expected to work directly with customers and company leadership to ensure optimized customer requirements, company production schedules, and ensure a deliberate as well as proactive approach to delivery scheduling. Direct and daily interaction with key customer accounts necessitates an elevated level of Customer Service and professionalism. Practical knowledge of preventive maintenance and inspection procedures for trucks, trailers, and cranes is a significant plus.

Job-specific training will be provided in use of company’s resource planning system, and current processes as the foundation for the development and implementation of best practice. Qualified candidates should have demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office suite of applications, especially Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel and be comfortable using ERP systems to evaluate customer order and production information. Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary.
